  • One more scarce goody from the 'B' section:
    • The first 7" single from a rather promising line-up, on the rather famous Eric's Records, Liverpool . . .

    • ' Brutality, Religion and A Dance Beat' - Big In Japan / The Chuddy Nuddies . (UK Eric's ‎– ERICS 0001, 1977)

      • . Image

Beside this song, they released just one other recording, an 7" E.P. and then split unfortunately. . Image

For the interested here's a audio clip. . Image

  • Here's their second release:
    • Their only solo release, beside the A-side of the "Brutality, Religion and a dance beat" of the ERICS 001 7" single below. Both of 'em are really scarce, but this one is more valuable . . . (by the way, I don't sell it . . . it's a keeper!!)
      • 'From Y to Z and Never Again' - Big In Japan . (UK Zoo - CAGE 001, 1978) 7" E.P. in triple folded cover.

  • Firstly thank your for your feedback and of course your recognition, both is appreciated. I am pleased to hear, that you like them too, though they were a rather short lived line-up. Somehow I still love them and enjoy to spin them more or less constantly. . Image

I am busy to catalog my singles in a data base, it's rather time consuming. I also spin each of them for play grading and enter them as well into 'Discogs', because of the monetary value which I also add to my data record. It is fun too, as I'm a pensioner now and have plenty of time. Sometimes I am surprised and delighted to see what little gems I have collected throughout all the years (47). . Image

  • Today I came across a nice hat trick in my singles cabinet. I thought, I should share it with you.

    • 'I Want Candy' - The Bishops . (UK Chiswick, 1978)
      • a) 6" = NS 376
        b) 7" = CHIS 101
        c) 10" = NS 3710

        • . Image

          . Image

It's a cover of the "Strangeloves" song from 1965. Bow Wow Wow did it too in '82. But the Bishop's is a real blast!! As the band is a genuine rock band from the UK. . Image

Sure there's an audio clip for you. . Image

I can't say I'm familiar with The Bishops, but after following your link to Youtube, I'm going to have to keep an eye out for them. Good stuff. I'm not sure they've had any American releases, though. Not that it matters. One can find anything, these days. Thanks for the heads up.

Good to hear that you like them, all of their releases are straight forward rock at it's very best. I guess, their records aren't extremely pricey, have a look here!
Have good diggin' luck mate. . Image

A good starter would be:
  • 'The Count Bishops' . (Chiswick - WIK 1, 1977) their debut! . Image

  • The last 7" record on my turntable last night, a story about a travel tragedy:

    • 'Trans Siberian Express' - Bardi Blase . (UK DinDisc - DIN 8, 1980)

Exciting and fresh pop with a good dash of electronic . . . a little weird maybe, but it's always fun to give it a spin! . Image

Here's the audio clip, give it a try at least . . . . Image

My mistake, Falk. I do know the Count Bishops. For some reason I thought you were talking about this band, named The Bishops:

  • Curt! The Count Bishops cut the "Count" off their band name after they released two albums
    • 'The Count Bishops' - UK Chiswick - WIK 1, 1977)
      'Good Gear' - (NL Dynamite - DYR 33001, 1977)
    and four 7" E.P.s/singles:
    • 'Speedball' - (UK Chiswick ‎– SW 1, 1975) E.P.
      'Train, Train' - (UK Chiswick - S 5, 1976)
      'Baby You're Wrong' - (UK Chiswick - NS 12, 1977)
      'I Need You' - (UK Chiswick - Promo 1, 1977) E.P.
After that the called themselves just 'The Bishops'. You see? It's one and the same band! . Image

The link you provided shows a completely different band! Wasn't aware, that there are more bands with the same name . . . . Image
