  • Though I'm not a fan of 'Wire' it is much appreciated to see someone else posting to this topic. But I love 'Magazine' and own all of their releases. . Image
Magazine & Wire would both be up there as 2 of my favourite bands - recently caught Wire in Glasgow, still sounding great, just never expect a 'greatest hits' set if you see them :D
My site on 45Worlds, trying to catalog those dodgy cassettes that used to appear everywhere. Mainly because I find them a bit interesting and a little time capsule before they went legal

Kitchens Of Distinction - Love Is Hell - 1989 One Little Indian

Superb debut album, very much in the 'indie/shoegaze' genre, was hooked on this band as soon as i heard the '3rd Time We Opened The Capsule' single.

Give them a try - '3rd Time....' is a great one to start, can't help feeling they let themselves down a bit by having a bit of a lousy band name - it's not really one you can picture in lights unfortunately :D

Some great stuff came out of that scene/era, some of my other faves are My bloody valentine, Slowdive, Catherine wheel as well as a multitude of 4AD bands.

  • Visited my friend in his record shop yesterday, and picked up two really nice new recordings. Here's the second one:

    • 'Church of Scars' - Bishop Briggs . (NL Teleport/Island - 602567484158, 2018)

It's her debut album, that comes as a 180 gram 'High Qualitiy' pressing in a fantastic and precious center-fold cover. It's class contemporary indie pop fresh and strong . . . . Image
Here's an audio clip for the interested. . Image
