David Bowie "ChangesTwoBowie" Parlophone 0190295740542 CTBLP2018. Black vinyl version.

I've been a sucker for the recent Bowie reissues since the remastering has been surprisingly good :-))

  • Sure, I'm still working at the letter "C", here's one from my favorite male Italian singer, he has a distinctive, rough and husky voice. I guess this was his major hit over here in Germany and Europe:

    • 'Una Festa Sui Prati' / 'Mondo In Mi 7.a' - Adriano Celentano . (DE Ariola ‎- 19 586 AT, 1967)

      • . Image

I have to confess, that I haven't played this little gem for years! . Image
Right! here's the audio clip, enjoy . Image

  • Today let me share a very nice little gem from an English "so called" super group:

    • 'Anyone For Tennis' / 'Pressed Rat And Warthog' - Cream . (DE Polydor - 59 206, 1968) mono

      • . Image

        . Image

        . Image

It's not that "Cream" typically sound you'd expect, but it's really worth a spin and nice to have it in the 7" collection.
      An absolute keeper!
      . Image
Yep! Now it's time for the audio clip! . Image

  • Just a quick posting, Marci's away, visiting her girlfriend for 4 days. Have to serve me my dinner myself tonight.

Here's a really genuine guy in all it's meaning! Of course he's a bit odd, He's from England. But I really was fascinated in 1979, when I saw him live in England/London/"Music Machine", thought I really had no chance to follow his crafty, sometimes a little shocking, but always telling just reality in these days. The song I like most from all of his precious songs is "I don't Wanna Be Nice"!
But he also has a special sense for the more miserable moments in life.

    • 'The Day My Pad Went Mad' / 'A Distant Relation' - ohn Cooper Clarke . (UK Epic - EPC A 2077, 1982) promotional copy

      • . Image

        . Image

        . Image

        . Image

The flip-side it a evil caricature of relationships in general and of families in particular. . Image
        Give him a try . . . it's worth it! (It's a really strange ride . . . mate!)
the second audio clip is my fave, as I mentioned above. . Image

  • . . . file under "C" . . .

Here's something coming from a time, when I even didn't have the chance to think about becoming a record collector some day . . . (at the age of 10). But I heard it on the radio and I loved it immediately, it's was really a lucky coincident, that I discovered a 'M'! copy from this hit of my youth, a few years back!
    • 'Babysitter-Boogie' / 'Driftwood' - Buzz Clifford . (DE Philips - 322 712 BF, 1961)

  • Yep! . . . still file under "C" . . .
One more gem from the American 'Laurie' label:

Of course I have the really arty and therefore appropriate company sleeve.

    • 'Out Of This World' / 'Just A Boy' - The Chiffons . (US Laurie - LR- 3350, 1966)

      • . Image

        . Image

        . Image

  • The topic's still "file under "C":

I thought, I should share this little beauty with all of you and for my friend Kimmo N. in particular:

      • 'I'm A Cult Hero' / 'I Dig You' - Cult Hero . (UK Fiction - FICS 006, 1979)

        • . Image

          . Image

          . Image

          . Image

According to 'Discogs' has this been recorded during a party at Morgan Studios London. This was the first time Porl Thompson, Simon Gallup and Robert Smith recorded together.

Here's the appropriate audio clip . Image

English power pop/rock from 1977

  • I thought today I should share a real cool debut album:

    • 'Fabulous Poodles' - Fabulous Poodles . (UK PYE - NSPL 18530, 1977)

      • . Image

        . Image

        . Image

        . Image

They belong to those brilliant English bands, that got a chance in shadow of the punk era . . . they released three albums, that I have all and I still dig their kind of power pop/rock combined with absolute great humor and pensiveness! . Image
Sure, here's an audio clip for you . . . ("Roll Your Own"). Image
