  • Once again I weeded out some great English stuff, if you're interested in really great power pop, then you might be interested. For further details see 'My Store on 'Discogs Marketplace'.

    • 'Terminal Love' - The Boys . (UK Safari - SAFE 23, 1980)

  • I recently weeded out four 7" singles of 'The Boys' for my Shop on the 'Discogs Marketplace'. Here's the only 7" single I kept, it's one of my favorite songs ever, since I heard the Rolling Stones' cover version of this great 'Arthur Alexander' song from 1961:

    • 'You Better Move On' / 'Schoolgirls' - The Boys

      • English release: . (UK Safari - SAFE 27, 1980)

Such a great cover version, I simply had to keep both of these little gems. . Image

I have always loved listening to this LP. It's such great garage rock.

  • I have to confess, that I have never heard an album from this band (shame on me), all I know is their hit "96 Tears". Maybe I should give their albums a serious try?! Thank you Curt, for reminding me. . Image

Fantastic 1971 debut album by a British Prog Rock group based in Germany. Great stuff.

Most people only know "96 Tears", Falk, so you can't be faulted about that. They weren't, as is commonly assumed, a one hit wonder. They had three or four singles that actually made it to the billboard charts, though none of them repeated the success of "96 Tears". There were two original Lps, 96 Tears in 1966 & Action, released in 1967. By the time the second album was released, they had matured somewhat as musicians and IMO played and wrote better.

  • Firstly thank you for your kind words and the additional information, both are appreciated. If I got it right, I should watch out for their second album first?! . Image

Well, the 2nd LP was quite good, but it didn't provide the big hit. Of course their record label, Cameo-Parkway, was all but bankrupt by this time so the 2nd album got virtually no real push. Both LPs are good listening.

  • Once again some nice 7" singles went into the "out-bin" here's just one little gem for example:

      • 'Smash It Up' - The Damned . (UK Big Beat ‎– NS 76 , 1982) a red vinyl reissue

Pure power in stunning archival condition, hardly ever played! . Image

  • The first of her albums I bought, because of a press review. It is still one of my "all time greatest" (vocal) jazz albums of all time and one of the most played albums from my record cabinet.

    • 'Holly Cole' - Holly Cole . (DE Tradition & Moderne ‎– T&M 1039, 2006) 180 gram, center-fold cover

She always gathered high class musicians to accompany her on her albums, it is really an outstanding pleasure to listen to them, no matter if it's with her 'Holly Cole Trio' or her solo albums. All of them are genuine, unique and fun to give the a spin. . Image
