so here goes my first review. Please comment and ask more questions when needed.

i start with my of my own favourites...

Tabula Rasa
s/t
Love Records LRLP 135
1975
re-issued on -76 ( label with rimprint ), and CD in -95.
value in finnish price guide 70 euros, re-issue -76 60 euros.
demanded on finland, hard to find

the genre in this one is prog/prog related. A couple faster numbers complited with nice, moody tunes. To think something souns-a-like, i would take Camel, Jethro Tull.
A nice guitar play added with flute. All lyrics done by finnish singer/songwriter Mikko Alatalo, all tunes composed by band guitarist Heikki Silvennoinen. All tracks signed in finnish.
Guitarist Heikki Silvennoinen later make career as an TV-series comedian, as well done some solo music. Vocalist Jukka Leppilampi left the band after 2nd album, and continued his career on gospel.
i would recommend this album to any prog fan, only problem is to find a copy even from finland. Band did 2 albums ( 2nd is Ekkedien Tanssi ). A band playes well, has talent, thou tracks are not too complex as sometimes prog can be. You can say this would go to "easy-prog" ...

so here goes my first review - have not done this before, i would be glad to receive feedback what more info you would want to be added here!

Heikki Silvennoinen - guitars
Jukka Leppilampi - vocals
Tapio Suominen - bass
Asko Pakkanen - drums
Jarmo Sormunen - flute

Very interesting,Kimmo ! I'm always looking for music that I've never heard before, and giving these reviews of records is cool. Camel,Jethro Tull sounding,eh ? And it's one of your favorites.
Thanks for the review ! Looking forward for more reviews from Finland ! 8)

thanks SID, i promise there´s lots to come! :D

yeah, Tabula´s sounds reminds Camel´s and Tull´s sounds. not much chancge in tempo inside the track, but nice, melodic that plays around ... and that flute makes lots of Tull-sound ...

Love Records in finland, i should write an note about it itself ... the label is greatly colected among music lovers in Finland. They lived from late sixties to mid-seventies, released about 300 LP´s, and had main bands from prog, rock, and art music from finland. As well they were label to release political aimed records. Later on, i think lots of my reviews are going to be releases of Love Records, so i also will introdude Love Records as an label s soon i get to write it down. In a nutshell, if you ever come accross release by Love Records, pick it up - either you like it, or if not, i buy it from you, as collector of the very label! :D

Oh great, now I can add the Love label to my have to find list - right behind Green Brain.
The fate of all mankind I see
Is in the hands of fools
Confusion will be my epitaph
As I crawl a cracked and broken path
If we make it we can all sit back
And laugh
But I fear tomorrow I'll be crying
Yes I fear tomorrow I'll be crying.
-Epitaph-

Good stuff, Kimmo. The RCG is interesting again! Yea!

My favorite prog dealer sells Tabula Rasa on CD, and he also has a Love Records 4-CD box set for anyone who's interested in investigating before spending big bucks on hard-to-find LPs.
