Still in love after more than 50 years

    • I think, it's fine when I decide to introduce one more of my teeny heart-throb. So here she is:
      • Manuela:

'Boing Boing die Liebe' (Boing Boing Love) 7-inch single (DE Hansa - 13 395, 1974)
I'm familiar with her since 1963 when she had her first and biggest German hit with a cover version of Eydie Gormé's 'Blame It on the Bossa Nova'.

She was that "next door girl" - somehow I was smitten by her natural charm. I have a whole bunch of her singles, but this cover photography transports my love for her best. Despite the inanely song title and the ridiculous advert from a German yellow press newspaper (write a song for your star), is this photography one of my favorites.

Yes, B, she is definitely easy on the eyes. I assume this is the same Manuela backed by Der 5 Bops on "Kussen Unter Regenbogen" on Decca - I found this single at a flea market years ago and was impressed by the Phil Spector-like production on it. At the same dealer I found Peggy March's "Doktor" which is a pretty funky tune from the former "I've Told Every Little Star" star.

:?: Wasn't that Linda Scott? Peggy March's big hit in the USA was "I Will Follow Him". Peggy March was much more popular in Germany than in the USA.

You caught me - I got my pop stars & their hits mixed up - I meant "I Will Follow Him", not "I've Told Every Little Star". Thanks for the correction.
