EPICLECTIC

My Goddess do I just love WB cartoons! Aside from kiddy records, are there other LPs with cover art by movie/TV animators?

Wally Wood did some cover art in the '50s for adult party records. Hard to find.

Don Martin of Mad Magzine fame, did some covers for Canadian comedy records.

Don't Leon and Michigan J. have revivals of "Hello, My Baby (Hello, My Ragtime Gal)" in common?

DEADSY

Yeah. Rick got wasted by the critics of his day. But the art is dreadful. What I might expect from a modestly talented 12 year old. . .

Did you mean K-Tel?

While listening to my MGM E-4386 version of "Both Sides of Herman's Hermits" this morning, I noticed that credit on the cover for "Art" is given to a Frank Frizzeta. When searching Google, the ONLY hit for this name was for an eBay listing for this same album. I find that odd.

Cany anyone validate the actual artist on this one? Could "Frank Frizzeta" be an alter ego of Frank Frazetta?

Inquiring minds want to know. 8)

epiclectic ~ It certainly resembles Frazetta's style -- compare his portrait of Ringo for a '64-'65 MAD shampoo "ad".

EPICLEPTIC

It is, indeed, the once inimitable Frank Frazetta. While he made his name with his Conan covers, I prefer the stuff he did for Jim Warren's publications. . .

Thanks, Neal and annaloog. Can we attribute the "Frizetta" spelling as intentional, or an oversight by the MGM QC department?

Probably a typo ... perhaps later printings corrected the spelling?
