I wish I had known of another forum member was in Singapore.
Would have made a point of catching up when I was there last year.
Will be in Hawaii this year, any members living there?

For some extremely strange reasons, I cannot access RCG in Singapore but when I'm now in India, I can!

Anyone knows what is the logic behind this?

What kind of network do you use to connect? Wired, wi-fi or VPN? The same or a different ISP whether in India and Singapore?

I use wi-fi connection both in India and Singapore. However, it is from a different laptop. The one I use in India is on Internet Explorer whereas the one in Singapore is on Chrome. I also tried Firefox and Internet Explorer in Singapore but in vain.

rockola,

It sounds like your IP address has been blocked. Due to the large amount of spam and people looking to crack the message board code, blocks on IP addresses must be performed. Often times, a whole bank of addresses will be blocked because the bad guys have mutiple IP addresses that they work from. I am thinking that your internet provider has you assigned to one of the blocked IPA.

To rectify this problem, please supply your IP address to one of the Moderators of this board. They can check the blocked address listing and see if your IPA appears there.

cutter, the Singapore IP address looks like 220.255.2.* series. I wasn't able to find it in the blocked addresses. You might have better success.

Hey annaloog,

It's good to hear from you, it has been a while. Since I am no longer part of the ownership at the Record Collectors Guild, I do not have the right to access the server where the blocking of IP addresses is also done.

In order to unblock from the server, a person must have "root" access to the WHM (Web Host Manager). In some cases, the term "rWHM" is used to indicate this. The current owner of the Record Collectors Guild is now FEEDBANDS.COM . If someone were to send a note to staff@recordcollectorsguild.org , you may receive some assistance with the blocking at the WHM. Otherwise, I do not know what rockola can do other than change IP addresses. Sorry...

Best regards,
cutter
