STICKY FINGERS

Post by sandell » Fri Oct 25, 2013 1:14 am

Hello...When exactly did the cover stop using a real zipper? And when did they stop printing the album with a gatefold? I have coc-59-100 gatefold, and a coc 39105...Thanks

Originally issued in 1971 with the 59-100 catalog number.
That number was used until 1977 when the started using 39-105.
They printed millions of them and were still using real zippers into the late 80's.
None of them were issued as a gatefold.
Someone may have pulled the outer cover back to expose the "shorts", but it had been glued shut.
I even just did an online search and the ones (with photos) that were listed as gatefolds, you could clearly see that they had been forced open.
Always looking for the odd and obscure on vinyl.
