"The Rolling Stones" Decca LK 4605

Post by vinowino » Sun Apr 14, 2013 4:57 am

Picked up another "The Rolling Stones" album this morning at our village market day. Cover is a bit worn but the vinyl I would rate VG.
It is mono, made in England, side 1 matrix XARL-6271-2A. Just the photo of band on cover and DECCA logo.
Can someone direct me to a site to identify what copy I have ?

What is the catalog number? (usually located on the cover and spine and label)
Then it will be easy to Google it from there.
Always looking for the odd and obscure on vinyl.

The number is LK 4605. I thought that even reissues had the same catalog number. Is that not right?

Here a site to read and compare the different pressings to find the exact one you have.

Thanks Rafter, I found that most helpful.
It seems it is among the first pressings but not of the very first issue.
