Flattening 1 of my Rare Lp's

Post by Guest » Wed Sep 21, 2011 12:58 pm

12 x 12 Glass,1/4 inch thick.

Put the lp between 2 pieces of glass, then 2 books on the top of that, books weigh the same for 90 days. A mutual friend did this and it flattened 1 of his rare lp's that had a warp.

musta been one of those wafer-thin Dynaflex albums? I've had no success with this method,
but did flatten a couple out in the hot sun...

The copy of the lp that I am trying to flatten is not dynaflex vinyl. I'll wait a few months to see what the results are. Actally I sold 1 of my dynaflex vinyl lp's to a record collector in the UK a few months ago.

I always thought those RCA inner sleeves were blowing alot of smoke up people's asses, touting
the virtues of Dynaflex- in reality they were doing nothing more than cheating the consumer of thicker,
more quality wax (conserving wax? Wasn't that during the oil embargo?)...

As I recall, Dynaflex came out around 1970/71 and the first oil crisis hit later around 1974.
Anyone who thinks he has a foolproof plan hasn't counted on the ingenuity of fools.
