Best rare/valuable record sleeve storage?

Post by DiggyPop » Tue Mar 25, 2014 1:26 am

I have several rare or (somewhat) valuable records that I would like to protect to a greater degree than those in the rest of my collection. I store all my records in the poly outer sleeves and my best vinyl is kept in the MFSL inner sleeves. I would love to find more substantial outer sleeves that would protect the covers from creases or spine/corner damage in case of an accident.

I do keep a couple records in 'record frames' but they are bulky and don't seem to be very well made anyway--also cuts off access to the record.

Does anybody have any good ideas or methods for greater protection of valuable record covers?

Thanks!

Put a piece of cardboard the size of the sleeve behind the sleeve and then put the poly sleeve on. Comic book collectors do this.

Just make sure the cardboard is acid-free
