Restoring faded vinyl album cover

Post by purplehaze3721 » Thu Oct 31, 2013 4:55 pm

Got a near pristine condition second British pressing of Disraeli Gears while in Italy, but the cover is somewhat faded. Is there any way for me to restore the richness to this beautiful album cover?

While discussing this album, what would it be worth? Seriously, the vinyl itself has probably been played twice, for it was in the private collection of a serious British vinyl collector. I want to see your estimates before immediately spitting out what I paid for it, as to not sway the estimates.

 Thanks!

The reason early albums in pristine condition command big dollars is that they were able to beat the odds and stay in pristine (mint) condition.
A faded cover is just that, faded. Just as when the vinyl gets scuffed, there is no going back.
Always looking for the odd and obscure on vinyl.

Go on to ebay and look for an excellent cover matched with a damaged album then do a switch.

right rafter, the condition of the cover & sleeve & label greatly effect the condition of the record. if you have a nm record but the label is dirty, faded, moisture damaged, or written on it's not near mint is it?
