What? No Otis Rush?

Why don't any of the Goldmine sponsored books include anything by Otis Rush, particularly the Cobra 45's?

Have you checked Goldmine's R&B guide.
I have it home I can look it up tonight. I bought it specifically because it seemed to have larger listings for blues artists.

Actually, I have.. I haven't checked Neal Umphred's guides (with the exception of his 45 guide with Tefteller which has listings for the Cobra singles) But I'm wondering why the newest Goldmine guides don't have him listed.

Hey Coolblues81,

My Osborne guide lists Otis Rush on the Cobra label.....

#'s 5000 & 5005----$50.00 - $60.00

#'s 5010, 5015, 5023, 5027, 5030, & 5032----$25.00 - $35.00.......

Again, NM condition and this is basicly a guidline for pricing...

Hope this helps...

Adios....Bye....Aye

It's unfortunate but I think Otis Rush has gotten lost in the shuffle with so many other great blues men from that time period.
I think the guides have to some extent, cater to the greatest number of fans/collectors when deciding what gets published.

I'm still patiently waiting (hint, hint) for a blues price guide. You may have better luck with one of the older guides.

Neal's guides failed the Otis test too...

Thanks, PGH Guy, my Cobra 5000 is a pretty nice example of NM...

I do have dreams of a nice discography/price guide/information guide/collector guide website, but I don't think I'd ever have the time/money/resources to see it to fruitition...

Well, I also love Otis Rush. And in reality he belongs in Blues and Rhythm & Blues price guides. And really needs to be in guides for rock music as he was an influence.
