Technics 14 band EQ

Post by ShadySam » Sat Nov 23, 2013 1:06 am

Scored one for ONE DOLLAR today (matches all my other Technics components, was so stoked)! Can anyone recommend tips/hookup/cleaning/etc?
I got it cheap 'cause no power cord, but I jerked one off an old boombox & it powers up, the
spectrum analyzer, etc... so I'm assuming it works. But fer a stinkin' buck, I won't bitch if it is
toast...

Should i use the de-oxit stuff on the slide bands?
Is it better to run thru tape deck then source (my amp), or can I get same effect just running straight thru amp? I'm not using my tape deck much nowadaze...

Thanks for any tips/advice, I was so tickled to find this!

Slap it into your tape monitor loop Sam. That way, you can EQ every source fed into the amp if needed.

Thanks J-Man,
Is it sometimes necessary to de-oxit those (slide) bands?
Like I said, never had one & ain't hooked it up yet... Thanks again!

Couldn't hurt - it's easy for dust to get into the sliders and make 'em all scratchy. Some suggest Deox-It's sibling, FaderLube, instead. Deox-It just cleans, but FaderLube gives the sliders a nice, smooth feel.
