Decca SXL Australian Pressings

Post by markt5 » Tue Dec 11, 2012 9:54 am

I have picked up a number of the Decca Wideband 1st edition albums recently - these are Australian pressings though - the only visual difference between these and the UK versions is that the label is orange in colour as opposed to black.
I do not seem to be able to find any real instances on Popsike etc of these versions being sold, so my question is, are the aussie versions collectible in their own right?
Thanks

No they are not. Unfortunately Aus pressings are regarded as sonically inferior, I have compared them with the UK editions and there is a small level of sound degradation consistently showing up on all releases..
