A book about us 78 nerds!

Amanda Petrusich:
Do not sell at any price
The wild, obsessive hunt for the world's rarest 78 rpm records
hard bound, 260 pp
Scribner, New York, July 2014
cover price 25 US$

Just as the cover blurb says: A book about preserving music and "a cabal of competitive, quirky individuals who have their own rules, language, and aconomy". Focus is mainly on pre-war blues and country and on american records and collectors - the only "outsider" is Richard Weize of Bear Family Records who gets 2 or 3 pages. I liked it.

I gave up collecting 78s a long time ago, but this looks pretty interesting.

Thanks for sharing.
