Daniel Edlen: Vinyl Art

Post by lucian » Sun Jun 02, 2013 7:25 am

Recently purchased some art by artist Daniel Edlen. He paints hundreds of artists on their respective records, using only white acrylic paint; takes commissions too. Here's a Glenn Gould one I purchased from him, painted on the 1967 stereo re-release of the renowned 1955 Goldberg Variations recording.

Isn't it? Here's a better quality image of it from Edlen's blog before he sent it to me.
I wonder if I should qualify this to be cataloged into my collection hahah.

Daniel Elden: Vinyl Art

Post by Heidler » Wed Jun 12, 2013 7:00 pm

Examples are really nice!!

What a gift to be able to do things like that!

In a similar vein, United Record Pressing ( of Nashville ) has been doing " etched art " on LP discs for some of their clients, but I think the painting on vinyl takes the biscuit!

Thanks for the information, and for sharing.

Off to Ocean Park!
