Epic late 1960's mono discography

Post by Ernie11 » Sat Jan 28, 2006 11:35 am

The list below is what I know of for a late 60's Epic mono discography. Like its sister label, Columbia, many of the last mono LP's were promo copies only, and used the stereo numbering scheme (BN prefix, 26000's) instead of the mono numbering scheme (LN prefix, 24000's), as seen in the label scan of the scarce Donovan LP below. Epic also used a square sticker with its logo and 'Mono' to denote these promo's, as seen in the scan of the Laugh-In LP cover below.

Add to the list:

BN 26382 - Bobby Vinton - Take Good Care Of My Baby - mono wlp (1968)

I found a nice vg+/vg+ copy earlier this afternoon, with the MONO sticker on the cover.

Go to

http://www.google.com/notebook/public/0 ... oQyZ_67sUh

How interesting that a nearly identical Epic mono discography shows up at this website. Don't know whether to be flattered or not.

Not. The "Google Notebook user" could more easily have linked to this page.

I've noticed one of the label scans on my (as yet unfinished) web site was lifted, reduced and used on a commercial site.

Add BN 26393, Bob Luman's "Ain't Got Time to Be Unhappy", a mono promo from 1968.
