ERNIE

Thanks! This is the type of info I look for on RCG but so rarely find. There are many more red label monos (NOTORIOUS BYRD BROTHERS and CHEAP THRILLS come to mind). The white label promos are tough to find and, oddly, don't attract as much collectors attention as one might assume.

Neal: Since I collect late 1960's mono LP's from a variety of labels, I would be happy to start a project of posting everything I know to exist for each label, on RCG. However, is "Questions and Answers" a good thread to do this under? I'm thinking it would be good if RCG could start a new category called Discographies under which we could assemble lists like this.

Until there is a DISCOGRAPHIES forum, please feel free to use the ASK NEAL UMPHRED forum for as many such posts as you can assemble. Title each appropriately and easily read and understood.

PS: I believe there is a white label promo mono UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

Neal, with each discography, I will try to post any mono stickers that the record label applied to the cover to identify it as such. At the very end of the mono era, most record labels didn't make up a separate mono album slick, they just took a stereo cover and pasted a mono sticker on it. With that in mind, here is a scan of the Special Radio Station Mono Copy sticker Columbia used for its mono promo's.
